Huff off to fast start

PAINESVILLE – Brandon Huff of East Palestine has his foot on the gas in the ARCA Truck Series.

Huff finished fourth in his Pirate Marine Boat Trailers Chevrolet in the 100-lap event at Lake County Speedway on Saturday night. Eight of the 11 trucks were on the lead lap.

After two races, Huff is third in the season points standings. Danny Jackson of Loveland, Ohio, won both races.

The next race is scheduled for June 27 at Kil-Kare Speedway in Xenia.

Wellsville sports awards

WELLSVILLE – The Wellsville High School spring sports awards will be held at 7:30 p.m. today for baseball, softball and boys and girls track.

East Palestine football camp

EAST PALESTINE – The East Palestine varsity football coaches are hosting a youth camp for kids entering grades 1-8 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 16, 18 and 20 at Reid Stadium.

Cost is $35 if preregistered by Thursday or $40 on the first day of camp.

COLUMBIANA The inaugural Lady Clippers golf team nine-hole, four-person scramble fundraiser will be held June 22 at Valley Golf Club.

Costs is $120 per team, which includes green fees, two carters, prizes and a picnic dinner.
