FAIRFIELD, Ohio (AP) — Police have identified a toddler who was found in a backyard landscaping pond in southwest Ohio.
Fairfield police said in a statement Monday that the 911 call just before 9 p.m. Sunday reported a baby had fallen into a pond. Police transported 18-month-old An Luong to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A frantic woman can be heard on the 911 tape saying her baby fell in a pond and to hurry. A male who got on the phone said the baby was on a couch where his father and a neighbor were trying to perform CPR.
The male caller said the baby was "so pale" and not breathing.
Police are investigating. Results from a Monday autopsy weren't immediately available.
Fairfield is about 30 miles north of Cincinnati.
