COLUMBIANA - Edna Gertrude Hazel, 89, of Whispering Pines, died July 25 at the Salem Regional Medical Center.
Born in London, England, on Aug. 28, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William Philpot and Lillian Smith Philpot
A homemaker, she was a member of the Lisbon Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Her husband, Lester Eugene Hazel, preceded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Marilyn Trares and Marsha Detwiler of Gavers, Mary Ellen Chuey of West Point and Julie Ypparila of Montana; a son, Lester Ernest "Butch" Hazel of Mexico; a brother James Philpot of England; 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted by Brother Allan Foster at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at the Lisbon Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Services were completed by the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial was at Riverview Cemetery.
