Concert will close out summer
The Why Not Band will headline Minerva's final concert in the park for 2014. Beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, the free concert will take place on the Municipal Park stage. Concessions open at 6:30 p.m. Guests are to bring chairs or blankets. In the case of rain, the concert will take place in the high school auditeria. Open house slated at Garfield
Garfield Elementary in Wellsville will hold an open house from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday for students entering preschool through third grade and their families. Staff members will be on hand and class rosters will be posted. Grade level meetings are also scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Grade 1; 6:10 p.m. Grade 2: and 6:30 p.m. Grade 3. Kindergarten orientation and preschool information will also be available.
Free swim offered in Lisbon
The Lisbon Park and Sadie Van Fossan Pool in cooperation with Lisbon First United Methodist Church will host a UMC Splash on Saturday. Free swim will be offered from noon-6 p.m.; with a free movie on the ballfield at dark. Lunch will be served at 3 p.m. in the park pavilion and guests are to bring chairs. The pool concession stand will be open during the movie.
Driver Sober program kicks off
The Family Recovery Center and ADAPT are holding a Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over kickoff from 8-9 a.m. Thursday at Das Dutch Haus. Registration and a breakfast buffet will run from 8-8:30 a.m. Presentations from Sgt. Craig Monte of the Lisbon highway patrol post and Lt. Allan Young with police dog Jesy of the sheriff's department will follow from 8:30-9 a.m.
