Hanovertonians to dine together
The Hanoverton Anniversary Committee have planned a free community dinner to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday at the old school house, Second Street. Guests are to bring a lawn chair and dessert to share. Games will be provided and the Hanover Township Historical Society Museum will be open.
SRMC sets Look Good program
Women undergoing cancer treatment can learn techniques for looking and feeling their best during an upcoming session of the American Cancer Society's free Look Good...Feel Better program from 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 6 at Salem Regional Medical Center. During the workshop, a trained cosmetologist will help with appearance-related side effects of treatment by offering assistance with make-up application, skin care, and hair and wig techniques. Participants will receive a free cosmetics kit, and should bring a T-shirt that can be cut for a project. Registration is required by calling the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345.
Robbins UMC collecting clothes
Robbins United Methodist Church of Leetonia is serving as a drop-off location for the Leetonia Community Clothing Drive. To drop off donations call the church at 330-427-6856. No clothing will be accepted after Aug. 10. The incorrect church and contact were previously submitted.
BPW to network at the Grille
The Columbiana Area Business and Professional Women will hold Wednesday's meeting as a Vendor and Networking event at The Guilford Lake Grille. It will begin with LaBella Bar pilates offering a Barre class for $10 at 4 p.m. Kerry Flory the Bling Bling Lady will join other vendors for sales and networking beginning at 5 p.m. A Pit Bike Race begins at 7:30 p.m. with sign-ups beginning at 6:30 p.m. Classes are 10-inch and 12-inch wheels, Pro, Clutch, Open, XR, TTR & Women's. All events are open to the public
Spaces open for VFD festival
Vendors are still being sought for the 69th annual Green Township Volunteer Firemen's Festival to begin at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Greenford Bobcat Space Center on state Route 165 in Greenford. Cost is $30; call 330-402-1322 or 330-831-1957. No duplicate vendors are permitted. All spaces are located outside. Tents are permitted as long as they are secured. Distribution of political literature is not allowed . No food or drink sales of any kind are permitted.
Salem design board to meet
The Salem Design Review Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the downstairs conference room in city hall. On the agenda is a certificate of appropriateness request by Jim and Marlene Lang to build a 12-by-21-foot American Street Carport at 366 S. Lincoln Ave. The request will require a variance from the zoning appeals board.
Driver's ed offered at ELHS
