Winery to host Humane Society fundraiser
The Humane Society of Columbiana County (HSCC) will host the second annual Yappy Hour from 5-9 p.m. July 24 at the Myrddin Winery, 3020 Scenic Ave., Lake Milton. Cost is $20 which includes five tastings and an etched wine glass. There will also be a three station meal for guests' dogs for $5. HSCC will also have T-shirts and other pet related items for sale. Dogs must be leashed or harnessed. A Quarter Auction will take place at 6 p.m. July 26 at the Lisbon Eagles, 127 E. Chestnut St. Admission is $5 which includes one bidding paddle, with a limit of 100 paddles. Doors open at 5 p.m. and over 60 baskets will be offered. Guests are asked to bring at least two rolls of quarters and/or dollar bills. Quarters, food and beverages will be available for purchase. EP in need of pint jars
The East Palestine Area Historical Society is in need of pint jars for its annual Apple Butter Days on Oct. 9-11. Tables open for Blossom sale
Tables are available for a community yard sale set from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center off Depot Road in Salem. Water quality workshop set
A family-oriented water quality workshop will be at the Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday. It will be presented by Kathy Cattrell and Jim Kerr. During the workshop, participants will assist in collecting and identifying macroinvertebrates from Beaver Creek. Other water quality tests will be completed as well. Library offers home delivery
The Salem Public Library is now offering a free delivery service to homebound residents of the Salem City School District. Wildlife display will open
The Salem Historical Museum, with the approval of the family of late Ted Enders, will open the display, "The Ted Enders Gallery of Wildlife Mounts," on Sunday. The display is Enders' private collection of more than 48 animals, hunted in Colorado, Idaho, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Alaska, Alberta, Canada, and Tzaneen in South Africa. Tours run from 1-4 p.m. Sunday and the museum is located at 208 S. Broadway.
Greenford alumni will gather
Reservations for the 110th Greenford High School Alumni Banquet are due by Aug. 1. The banquet is scheduled for Aug. 16 at A La Carte Catering in Canfield. Social hour will begin at 5 p.m. with dinner following at 6 p.m. The cost is $20 or free for members of the Class of 1964 in honor of their 50th reunion. Circus coming to Minerva
Minerva will welcome the Kelly Miller Circus to Minerva's Municipal Park at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. July 23. The community can view the animals being unloaded at 7:30 a.m. and watch the tent raising at 9 a.m. An hour before the show, there will be an opportunity to ride elephants and camels. Presale tickets are $10 for adults or $6 for children 12 and under and are available through July 22. Tickets are available at the following Minerva locations: Consumers National Bank, Kishman's IGA, YMCA, Three Sons' Hardware, Gionino's Pizzeria, and the Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce.
