EAST LIVERPOOL - Owners of more than six acres in the East End of the city are asking for a zoning change in preparation for a potential sale of the parcel, saying the rezone is necessary for the sale.
The Sue Ludovici Family Trust, Linda and Robert Martin, Thomas and Elizabeth Ludovici, Linda Ludovici, Fran Phillips and Anita Hall have petitioned the city Planning Commission for the zoning classification change from B-5, central business district, to M-3, general industrial.
The property, located at 1331 Pennsylvania Ave., composes about 6.27 acres, and according to planning Director Bill Cowan, was previously zoned B-5 until the owners requested a change to M-3 four or five years ago. Now the owners want to revert to the original status.
Cowan said he does not know what the plans are for the property, saying the application from the owners specifies only that "Potential purchaser of real estate will not purchase the property as currently zoned."
The city Planning Commission will consider the request during a meeting at noon June 17 in council chambers at City Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
