Palmer "Junior" McGuire age 59 of Hanoverton passed away at his home in Hanoverton, Sunday, April 6, 2014. He was born December 4, 1954 in Salem, Ohio to Palmer McGuire Sr. and Anna (Owsley) McGuire.
He was a Elder in the Little Anna United Baptist Church in Dungannon. He was a truck driver by trade and belonged to the Independent Owner and Operators Association. Junior graduated from Southern Local High School. Junior loved fishing and hunting.
Junior is survived by his wife, Linda Kay (Nutter) of the residence, whom he married March 4, 1977; two sons: Beau Michael McGuire of Hanoverton and Luke Allen (Danna) McGuire of Fort Sill, Oklahoma; six grandchildren: Jasmine McGuire, Amelia Wilson, Michael Miller, Avery McGuire, Hayden McGuire and Colten McGuire; and one great-granddaughter Miley Miller.
Junior also is survived by five brothers: Arthur (Alma) McGuire of Mineral City, William (Violet) McGuire, Tom (Carol) McGuire and Frank (Desta) McGuire, all of Hanoverton, and Merle McGuire of Salem; a sister-in-law, Mary McGuire of Hanoverton; a half sister, Rose (Eugene) Conley in Indiana, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death beside his parents were three brothers: Chester Allen, Mitchell and Carl McGuire.
Calling hours for Junior will be Wednesday April 9, 2014 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Maple Cotton Funeral Home.
The funeral will be Thursday April 10 at the Little Anna United Baptist Church at 11 a.m. 12169 Foundry Hill Road, Hanoverton, Ohio 44423. Justin Miller will officiate. The burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Hanoverton.
