All letters to the editor pertaining to issues on the ballot for the May 6 election must be received at the Lisbon office of the Morning Journal by 5 p.m. April 22. Any letters received after that time will not be considered for publication, without exception. No letters will be published after April 29. Letters with the sole purpose of endorsing a candidate will not be published. Letters should be typewritten and be 500 words or less. Handwritten letters of 25 words or less may be considered if the handwriting is legible. All letters are subject to editing or rejection by the editor. All letters must include a signature (a typewritten name will not suffice) and a phone number for verification purposes. Letters without signatures and phone numbers will be rejected, and senders will not be notified. Unpublished letters are not returned or acknowledged.
