NEWTON FALLS - The United track teams hit their stride Saturday at the Tiger Invitational at Newton Falls High School.
Both the United girls and boys track teams placed third at the meet.
Girard won the 13-team girls meet with 124 points, followed by Tallmadge with 99 and United with 82 2/3.
Allison Parks led the girls as she won the 800-meter run (2:28.10), 1600 run (5:30.49) and 3200 run (12:07.09). Parks also placed second in the 3200 relay (10:43.96) along with Brynn Hofmeister, Hunter Urmson and Maggie Briceland.
Taylor Miller also placed third in the shot put (30-8), while the 800 relay team of Angela Judy, Joscelin Mrugala, Mikayla Englert and Amanda DeRuyter was third (2:04.22).
Tallmadge won the 15-team boys meet with 118 points. Mogadore Field was second with 87 and United, led by four-time winner Riley Fillman, was third with 81.
Fillman took first in the 110 hurdles (15.27), 300 hurdles (41.66), long jump (21-3.75) and the 400 relay (44.73) along with Alex Phillips, Tyler Powers and Mike Martin.
Lucas Cooper also won the shot put (46-3 1/2) and placed third in the discus (131-2).
Western Reserve also got in on the action as the boys placed seventh with 40 points, and the girls in ninth with 34.
Joe Falasca placed second in the 110 meter hurdles (15.8), the 300 hurdles (42.41), and the 800 relay (1:36.94) along with Josh Vuletich, Marc Harper and Brian Sunderman.
For the girls, Ashleigh Rowley placed second in the 3200 run (12:22.41), and the team of Baylee Harley, Hannah Grace, Lauren Falasca and Paige Ewing placed second in the 800 relay (2:01.56).
