Patricia L. Stockdale Patton, 80, of Darlington Township, Pa., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 24, 2014.
She was born January 19, 1934, in Rochester, PA and was the daughter of the late David Arthur Stockdale and Kathryn Haller Stockdale.
A 1951 graduate of Darlington High School, Patty was a homemaker, farmer's wife, and later in life, a caregiver for the elderly for sixteen years and for her husband for eleven years.
She was an avid fan of the Steelers and Pirates, and was a member and Trustee of the First United Presbyterian Church of Darlington, where she was active for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William Walker Patton; her aunt and uncle, Olive and Harold Haller, who raised her following the death of her parents; her husband's grandparents, Oscar and Lottie Walker; father and mother-in-law William Atchison Patton and Mae Evelyn Walker Patton; a sister, Eleanor Pifer; a brother, Kenneth Bates; a sister Magdalene Ford; a special aunt, Hattibelle Brch, numerous aunts and uncles and several close friends.
She is survived by her six children, Beverly & Emmery Rabovsky, Joyce & Dave Ledford, Linda & Herb Rawding, Sharon and John Izotic, Carolyn & Joe McBride, and Bill and Sallie Patton; ten grandchildren, Valerie and John Roncaglione, Dave and Eva Ledford, Libby and Sean Black, Luke and Nikki Rawding, J.D. and Nicole Rawding, Katie Guthrie and Shaun Temple, Jenna Guthrie and Randy Kibler, Haley Barger, Annie Patton and her fiance Zach Lenigar, and Will Patton; and five great-grandchildren, Michael Ledford, Addyson and Ian Black, Lilliana Rawding, and Kasch Kibler. She is also survived by two sisters, Barb & Ed Cope and Shirley & Tom Birnesser; brother-in-law, Wayne Pifer; sister-in-law Judith Bates; cousins Dave & Ann Graham; and several nieces and nephews.
Patty experienced many trials and obstacles in her lifetime but persisted and overcame them through her strong faith in Jesus Christ and her reliance on family and close friends.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 Fourth Ave., Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
The funeral service will be held on Friday at 11AM in the First United Presbyterian Church, 3385 Old Darlington Road, Darlington, PA 16115. Interment will follow in Seceder Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made, if desired to the church.
The family gives heartfelt appreciation and thanks to Sherry Anderson, who cared for Patty in her home; the staff of Providence Care Center, and her dear friend Sondie Fritz for their care of Patty for the past several months.
