A firetruck in the funeral procession for Calcutta firefighter Meghann Nign travels underneath an American flag flying from the department's aerial at the Columbiana County Memorial Park cemetery. Mrs. Nign and her husband, Jamie Nign, were killed in an auto accident Jan. 19 which also injured their four children. Mrs. Nign was also an EMT with North Star Critical Care ambulance, and her husband was a Calcutta firefighter. His funeral was held last week in Carrollton. On Monday night, Mrs. Nign was afforded the last EMT call by NSCC and both she and her husband were given the last fire call by Calcutta Fire Department at the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home in Calcutta where firefighters and EMTs from numerous departments were in attendance.
