Corum Manzi

East Palestine- Corum "Bill" William Manzi, age 86, of New Waterford, died on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, East Palestine.

He was born on October 16, 1927 in East Palestine, a son of the late James and Muriel Colegrove Manzi.

Corum was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during WWII. He had worked as an Assistant Foreman for 20 years at Columbiana Boiler as well as delivering milk for Raymond Lindsay Dairy, East Palestine, for 23 years. Corum was a member of the New Waterford United Methodist Church and the East Palestine Masonic Lodge #417, F & AM where he was a 50 year member and Past Master. Corum also had served as Clerk-Treasurer for the village of New Waterford for 8 years.

His wife, Frances Mae Hollabaugh Manzi, whom he married on October 16, 1946, preceded him in death on May 2, 2013. He is survived by two sons, Gary W. (Sue) Manzi of Columbiana and Robert C. (Patricia) Manzi of New Waterford; three grandchildren, Bill (Becky) Greenwood of Austintown, Scott (Susan) Greenwood of Columbus, and Deana (Rob) Klindworth of Columbiana; and four great grandchildren, Sydney Greenwood, Claire Greenwood, Nicholas Klindworth, and Sophia Klindworth.

Corum was preceded in death by daughter, Kay Greenwood, four sisters, Betty Zimmerman, Lucy Dodds-Barcella, Eleanor Sutherin and Rae Pulch and by two brothers, Jerry and Melvin Manzi.

Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Pastor Terry Brown officiating. Services will conclude Tuesday evening with a Masonic service by the East Palestine Lodge at 6:30 PM. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service Tuesday evening. Burial will be in New Waterford Cemetery.
