EAST PALESTINE A boil order has been lifted for the Village of East Palestine.
Water and Wastewater Foreman John Jurjavcic announced the lift around 3:15 p.m. He said residents should still continue to conserve water to fill up the two water reservoirs.
Residents should conserve until at least the first part of next week.
The water department was able to fix two of the village's water lines that broke Monday on East Taggart Street a street near Brookdale Avenue, he said.
The lines were shut down while the crew worked to correct the problem and the work was finished on Wednesday.
"We had that isolated until we could get caught up. Everything is back to normal except recovering the reservoirs," he said.
He also said he met with a member of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, who was satisfied with what the village has done to fix the problems.
"The OEPA seems satisfied. He said he appreciated all the work we did," Jurjavcic said.
The water crew worked well over their regular routine shifts throughout the week addressing the water problems and exactly how much overtime has been put in is not yet calculated.
Jurjavcic said those figures will be completed later this week.
