Raymond Boord

COLUMBIANA - Raymond J. Boord, 57, of Columbiana, passed away suddenly early Sunday morning, December 15, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman, OH.

Ray was born on June 10, 1956 in Sewickley, PA, and was raised in Rochester, PA. He was the son of Raymond L. and Frances L. (Pluto) Boord.

Ray was a 1974 graduate of Rochester High School. He married Teresa (O'Neill) Boord on May 19, 1979. Together they moved to Columbiana, OH in 1995. They celebrated their 34th anniversary this past year.

Ray was previously employed by J&L Steel in Aliquippa, PA, USAirways in Pittsburgh, and Compco Industries in Columbiana, OH. He took early retirement from Compco due to a work-related injury.

Ray was a member of St. Jude Church. He also belonged to Sons of the American Legion Post 290. Ray had a passion for many activities. He loved coaching girls fast pitch softball. He enjoyed working on his muscle cars, and going to car shows. Ray also looked forward to hunting season each year.

Ray loved to help anyone who needed help, and loved spending time with his family. Ray will be missed by all that knew him, and we will all miss the love, joy, and laughter he brought us.

Ray is survived by his wife Teresa Boord; two daughters, Shelly A. Boord and Laura L. Boord of Columbiana, OH; his mother Frances L. Boord of Rochester, PA; and brother, Joseph Boord of Texas.

Ray was preceded in death by his father, Raymond L. Boord; and brother, Steven Boord.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 18 from 5-8 p.m. and also one hour prior to the services at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street in Columbiana, OH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 19 at 1 p.m. at St. Jude Church, 180 7th St., Columbiana, OH with Reverend Thomas Ziegler officiating.

The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana with the arrangements for their loved one.
