EAST LIVERPOOL - A search warrant based on an investigation by city police officers was executed at 226 W. Ninth St. Tuesday by the county Drug Task Force (DTF), federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and city officers, resulting in two men being arrested.

As officers converged with guns drawn on the house at the corner of Dresden Avenue, neighbors poured out of their nearby homes or watched from the windows.

Four men and a young child were found inside the house, where Chief John Lane said heroin was reportedly being sold.

Officers place one suspect into a cruiser during execution of a search warrant Tuesday at a West Ninth Street home in East Liverpool.

The search warrant was obtained based on an investigation following purchases of heroin inside, Lane said.

The little girl was picked up by her grandfather while officers searched the property, reportedly owned by Sherman Pritt, who showed up at the scene and was seen speaking with DEA officers about the alleged activity that has been going on in the home.

Taken from the home in handcuffs were the home's tenants, Jason Tice and Delbert McMasters, both of whom were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Tice was additionally charged with endangering the children; he is the father of the little girl who was present, Lane said.

The two other men inside were not charged since they are not residents of the home.

A box filled with sealed evidence bags was brought from the house by a DEA agent, but their exact contents were not immediately known, although Lane said they contained drug paraphernalia and the "residuals" of drug use.
