SALEM Margaret "Peg" E. Walter, 81, of North Lima, passed away Tuesday evening, November 12, at Salem Hospital surrounded by her family.

Peg was born on June 21, 1932 in Salem, a daughter of Frank and Mabel (Allison) Willard. She was a life-long area resident.

She married John S. Walter on November 29, 1953. He passed away on January 19, 1994.

Peg was employed at Derenzio's Restaurant in Salem as a cook for many happy years, until she retired in 1979.

She enjoyed doing crafts, scrapbooking and crocheting. She spent over thirty years camping at Chapperl Family Campgrounds, which she loved. She especially enjoyed being with her family and friends. She belonged to the Mahoning County Extension Club from 1965 until the present.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughter, Cindy Walter of East Palestine, OH; a grandson James "Jamie" (Kimberly) ; a granddaughter Polly; three great-grandchildren; and seven sisters, Beverly Peters, Evelyn (Charles) Ardeno, Twila Shoaff, Sharen (Willis) Uphold, and Wendy (Bennie) Phillips, all of Salem, Inez (Steve) Ardeno of Austintown, and Linda Endicott of Lisbon.

Peg was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; her daughter Rebecca Ann Walter, who passed away October 16, 1996; a grandson, George; three sisters, Myrtle Rubich, Betty Reed, and Fern Kenst; and three brothers, Henry "Hank", Russell "Russ", and George Willard.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 19 at 11 a.m. at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market Street, North Lima with Pastor Larry Paxson officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 18 from 4-8 p.m. at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market Street, North Lima, and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

The Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, Ohio is entrusted with the arrangements.

If friends desire, material contributions in Peg's name may be made to The Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.

Peg's family would like to extend a very special thank you to close friends Tammy and John Chuey, who were always there for Peg and provided extra love and supported when it was needed most. Their care and compassion over the last three years is much appreciated.
