Columbiana County Sheriff Ray Stone expects to learn the identity and cause of death today for man whose body was found Saturday in Butler Township.

The body was found at 2 p.m. Saturday on an oil well access road off Hartley Road between Slater and Shelton roads.

Stone said the body was found about a quarter-mile back from Hartley.

The county coroner's office took control of the body and Stone is awaiting the results of the autopsy which is being conducted in another county.

"There's not really anything new. We're still waiting for the coroner," he said Sunday.

The Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation is working on the case.

The Columbiana County Homicide Task Force was called out Saturday, with about a dozen investigators on the scene.
