Virginia DeLauter

NEW SPRINGFIELD-Virginia M. "Ginny" DeLauter, 89, passed away peacefully Friday evening, September 27, at her home surrounded by her family.

Ginny was born on November 9, 1923 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Roman T. and Agnes E. (Zulick) Smith. She was a life-long area resident.

Ginny was a graduate of South High School in Youngstown. She married Roy "Bud" DeLauter April 12, 1944 and together they would raise four children. She also was a secretary for Gem-Young Insurance Agency for over 20 years.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughters, Suzanne (Jim) Kerr of Columbiana, Ginny Lee DeLauter of Columbiana, and Linda (John) Yencha of Locust Grove, VA; her son, Rick (Barb) DeLauter of Columbiana, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away July 31, 2006; her parents; and her brother Ed Smith.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, September 30 at noon at St. Jude Church with Father Dan Cipar celebrating.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 30 from 10:45 11:45 a.m. at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street, Columbiana, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made in Ginny's name to St. Jude Church, 180 7th Street, Columbiana, OH 44408.

The Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana has been entrusted with the arrangements.
