Morning Journal News

A 21-year-old woman was killed Thursday in a motorcycle accident on state Route 9. The Lisbon Post of the Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and according to information released that evening, Kara Molnar of Adena, Ohio was a passenger on the motorcycle driven by Richard Hall, 28, Kingsport, Tenn. The crash occurred just south of Whinnery Road in Butler Township shortly after 3 p.m. when Hall failed to negotiate a curve and went off the right side of the road into a wooded area hitting two trees. He and Molnar were ejected upon impact and were not wearing helmets, according to the report. Molnar was pronounced dead at the scene by the Columbiana County Coroner's office, and Hall was taken by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth's Hospital where he was reported to be in stable condition. The Winona Fire and EMS Department and KLG Ambulance responded.
