Rain adds to drivers’ problems

July 23, 2013
Morning Journal News

One of many vehicle accidents reported was this 2000 Cavalier driven by Kelly Reed, 28, Main Street, Wellsville. While southbound on state Route 11 in Liverpool Township Monday during heavy rain, she hydroplaned, according to township police. The vehicle struck the center median wall, spun across both lanes and ended up in this ditch off the right side of the roadway. She was not injured and officers did not report whether any charges were filed. Along with this, another accident sent Michele Lilly, 43, of Campbell by North Star Critical Care ambulance to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman. While southbound on state Route 11 Monday evening, her pickup truck struck a standing pool of water, causing it to fishtail, according to what witnesses told St. Clair Township police. The truck went off the right side of the highway and struck a ditch, flipping over at least two times before coming to rest on its tires.
