LISBON - The body of an elderly man was pulled from Guilford Lake early Wednesday evening, according to Columbiana County Sheriff Ray Stone.
The coroner's office is investigating. Stone said the man was 91 years old.
According to an apparent related sheriff's report, a deputy was dispatched to 308 W. Chestnut St. in Lisbon at 9:07 a.m. Wednesday and interviewed Mabel Primm regarding a missing person report. Primm, a friend of the missing person, Edward Krauss, of 8029 state Route 45 in Lisbon, also has medical power of attorney for him and advised the deputy that Krauss left at approximately 8:30 a.m. Wednesday driving his 2013 Ford Fusion.
Primm said Krauss was having trouble remembering things and became confused at times and believed he may have driven to Sharon, Pa. because he was familiar with the area.
The report said, "The subject was found in Guilford Lake."
Stone said he was called Wednesday afternoon after a deputy reported seeing what looked like a body in the lake and a silver Ford Fusion in the nearby lot.
Stone said a be-on-the-lookout (BOLO) for the vehicle had been issued.
