Both ends of Columbiana County will be hopping with activity this weekend.
In the north, the Salem Super Cruise officially kicks off today and continues through Sunday featuring musical entertainment, cruises and a street art contest.
While most of the events are held on State Street, which is closed to traffic, an autocross will be held at Walmart on Sunday and Centennial Park will host an antique car show from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and an arts and crafts show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
And, of course, the Steel Valley Super Nationals will be held this weekend at Quaker City Motorsports Park.
In the southern end of the county, pottery aficionados will gather beginning today for the 19th annual Ohio Valley China Collectors Convention.
This event, which celebrates the rich pottery heritage of our area runs through Sunday. The gathering offers many events for the collectors group, but also has several events which are open to the public. A Treasures of Ohio Valley Potteries event, which includes auctions, is open to the public at 7 p.m. Friday, and at 1 p.m. Sunday the Alumni Auction will be held at the Alumni Clock Tower.
Both events offer a wide variety of activities to appeal to many tastes and interests.
