COLUMBIANA Jack D. Spatholt, 84, of Whispering Pines Village, died at 1:49 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Salem Community Hospital.
Mr. Spatholt was born December 29, 1928 in Boardman, a son of Howard F. and Elizabeth A. Krause Spatholt, Sr. He has lived in this area all of his life. He had served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
He had been employed as an electrician with IBEW Local 64 of Youngstown for 42 years. He was also an Electrical Apprenticeship Instructor for 35 years with the local. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Columbiana and Allen Lodge #276 F.&A.M. of Columbiana. He enjoyed golfing with his brother and traveling with his wife.
His wife, the former Martha Hazel Spatholt, whom he married in 1953 died Nov. 24, 2002.
He is survived by four sons, John Spatholt of San Diego, CA, David Spatholt and Jim Spatholt, both of Columbiana, and Dan Spatholt of Columbus; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Virginia Spatholt and his brother, Howard Spatholt, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Mr. John Reed, Minister and Mr. Clarence Mansfield, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday where Allen Lodge will conduct Masonic Services at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Columbiana Public Library.
