The story in the Morning Journal on March 29 was very beautifully written by Jo Ann Bobby-Gilbert. The response that was received from friends and the community in either comments or donations was overwhelming to William and Elizabeth and myself.
The purpose and the meaning behind the story was to draw attention to the fact that our community needs an emergency shelter just for this type of situations and in the event an area of the community would lose power. This would provide heat, air conditioning or an emergency meal for these situations to those in need, like the elderly.
Our community organizations, churches and others have limited help available and they do the very best they can in providing for the needs of the community, but it is limited.
Jo Ann Bobby-Gilbert did a very beautiful report and I think that our community needs a shelter for emergencies.
