Dwain R. McKenzie, age 63, of Luckey, Ohio passed away at his home on Friday, March 22, 2013, after a two year illness.

The son of Agnes (Jarvis) McKenzie Ward of East Liverpool and the late William E. McKenzie, he was born in Salem, Ohio on October 30, 1949 and had lived most of his life here before moving to Luckey in 2000.

Dwain was an Independent Contractor working as a Truck Driver, last working in 2011. He was a graduate of Southern Local High School, class of 1967, a member of the Highlandtown United Methodist Church and the Teamster's Local.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Karla (Pasqualone) McKenzie of Luckey, Ohio. His children, William E. McKenzie and his wife, Tracy, of Hanoverton, Oh., Genine West and her husband, Rob, of Tenn., Faye May and her husband, Russell, of Hanoverton, Ohio, Anthony Cooper, Alexis Cooper, and Alyssa Cooper all at home. Six step children, Nicole Carey and her husband, Wayne, of Fredrick, Md., Chad Ulrich and his Wife, Shannon, of Broadview Heights, Oh., Amber Ulrich and her fiance, Rob, of Portage, Oh., Angelina DeFalco and her fiance, Craig, of Columbus, Oh., Marissa DeFalco of Toledo, Oh., Michael DeFalco and his fiance, Dani, of Woodville, Ohio, eight grandchildren and 14 step grandchildren. One brother, Leonard McKenzie Sr. and his wife, Libby, of East Liverpool, a sister, Kay Rawson and her husband, Gary, of East Liverpool, and a step brother, Timothy Ward and his wife, Sondra, of Columbus, Oh. and several nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his special friends and sidekicks, Moose, Dana, Bookey, and Chip, who were with him a majority of his life and offered their caring support during his illness.

In addition to his father, Dwain was preceded in death by his step father, Thurman Ward, and a step son, Ron S. DeFalco.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Kenny Maylone of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Highlandtown Cemetery.

Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.
