COLUMBUS - The United girls basketball team, which enjoyed the winningest season in school history and a second straight district title, featured a lineup full of talented players.
Senior Emily Zehentbauer received special mention and senior Courtney Hydrick got honorable mention on the 2012-13 Associated Press Division III All-Ohio girls basketball team released Tuesday.
In Division IV, Crestview senior Ashley Harrison and Columbiana senior Khylea Fullum grabbed special mention and Lisbon senior Pam Pierce was an honorable mention selection.
United had a school-best 24-3 season, including a school-record 16-game winning streak and a fifth straight Inter-Tri County League upper tier title.
Zehentbauer was the Eagles' top scoring threat, averaging a team-high 15.6 points, five rebounds and four assists a game.
Hydrick overcame four knee surgeries to emerge as United's top inside threat, averaging 10.8 points, a team-high eight rebounds and four steals a game.
United lost in the regional semfinal to fourth-ranked Orrville, which stars Division III player of the year Hannah Plybon. Orrville will play in the state semfinals in Columbus on Thursday.
Harrison, a two-time Columbiana County player of the year, led the Rebels in scoring all four years, finishing with 1,653 career points. She guided the Rebels to an 18-7 record this season, averaging 19.4 points, 3.1 steals and 2.9 assists.
Fullum, another 1,000-point scorer, powered Columbiana to a school-record 21 victories in 25 games. She averaged a team-high 19.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 4.3 steals a game.
Pierce guided the Blue Devils to 15 wins and their first appearance in the district finals since 1991. She averaged led the team in scoring (15.4) and rebounds (9.0).
Inter-Tri County League lower tier champion Lowellville placed seniors Kayle Solak and Rachel Durbin on the Division IV All-Ohio squad.
Solak, who averaged 15.3 points a game, received third-team honors. Durbin got honorable mention.
