LISBON - The man accused of being uncooperative with Salem High School administration after he simply walked into the building with the students on Tuesday pleaded no contest to criminal trespassing Thursday in Columbiana County Municipal Court.

Mark E. Knight Jr., 26, East School Street, Salem, was fined $250 and sentenced to 30 days in jail. Additionally, Judge Mark Frost ordered Knight not to be within 100 yards of any school. A review hearing was scheduled for Feb. 26, the day before he is scheduled to go to jail.

According to court documents, Knight walked into the Salem High School on Tuesday without registering in the office and then refusing to give a correct name to school officials as he walked toward the cafeteria looking for someone before going out a door.
