Cumming, GA - Kandy left our embrace from her home in Cumming, Georgia, surrounded by loved ones, on December 22nd, 2012. She is now in the embrace of The Lord and with her loved ones and friends that preceded her there. She was 76.
She was brought into this life as the daughter of Isaac and Myrtle (LeFevers) Payne in Cary, Kentucky on January 20th, 1936.
She leaves behind a sister, Darlene (Don) Beerworth of East Liverpool, a daughter, Kathy (Randy) Davenport Ash of Warren, Ohio, two sons, Tim (Mickey Brown) Davenport of Cumming, Georgia and Thomas A. Carnegie, also of Cumming, Georgia, two grandchildren, Tyler and Caylin Davenport of Cumming, Georgia, two nieces, Sue Lewis of Cincinnati and Michele (Chuck) Mankamyer of McKinney, Texas, and two nephews, Jamie (Francie) Payne of Georgetown, Pa. and Jason (Shara) Payne of Hookstown, Pa. and their families.
Kandy married Estle Davenport in October, 1952 and the marriage produced Kathy and Tim. Kandy later married Thomas Carnegie, an automobile dealer in East Liverpool, in New York City in 1964. They were married until his death in 1970. They had one son, Tom. In 1983, Kandy married Joe Clement, an East Liverpool builder.
After owning and operating Kandy's Lounge in East Liverpool from 1972 to 1984, she and her husband Joe moved to Marco Island and later moved to Georgia where she worked with her husband who owned and operated Penn Development Corporation. They retired from the business in 2001 and enjoyed watching their family grow. Joe preceded Kandy in death after 28 years of marriage in October of 2010.
Services will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday with Brandon Russell of the 1st Christian Church of Wellsville. Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home anytime Friday, where the family will be present from 2 to 8 p.m.
