MALVERN - A Columbiana County man was found dead in Carroll County Thursday night after he failed to return home from hunting.
According to the Carroll County Sheriff Department, Robert Hepner, 61, Quaker Church Road, East Rochester, was found near a tree in the Pride Valley Campground in Brown Township after a 90-minute search.
An airplane provided by the Ohio State Highway Patrol was used in the search. A family member had reported that Hepner failed to return home after a night hunting raccoon.
An autopsy is pending, but Sheriff Dale Williams has said there were no signs of foul play and it appears Hepner may have suffered a heart attack.
The area in which Hepner was found is located about six miles west of Minerva, according to a deputy at the sheriff's department.
