Salem football team earns Academic All-Ohio

December 18, 2012
Morning Journal News

SALEM - The Salem Quakers football team earned an Academic All-Ohio honor given by the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association.

Salem was in the top 10 as a team out of 726 high school programs. Two individual players were also honored - seniors Mike Madison and Jake Carner. Fewer than 100 players in the state are honored with the award.

"Our guys really have their priorities straight," head football coach Ron Johnson said. "They understand you can't pick and choose things to be great at. It's all encompassing. They got it done in the classroom and played better football each week. They made a total commitment."
