Salem women arrested for part in alleged on-line prostitution ring

ALLIANCE - Two Salem women have been arrested by Alliance police in connection with an alleged on-line prostitution ring in the city.

According to the Alliance Review, Deborah Sue Lapin, 45, of East Fourth Street, and Nicole Marie Polley, 23, of Southeast Boulevard, were arrested Wednesday at a local hotel.

Both are charged with soliciting and possessing criminal tools, the latter for allegedly using a cell phone in the transaction.

The (Alliance) Review said an undercover officer responded to an ad on and later met both women in the hotel, where each allegedly offered sexual acts in exchange for cash.

After the two were arrested, the Review said, police found heroin in Polley's car, resulting in a possession of heroin charge against her.

Polley was arraigned Friday in Alliance Municipal Court. Lapin, who is to be arraigned today, is on probation for an OVI charge in Columbiana County, the Review said, and has a probation violation hearing in county Municipal Court on Jan. 15.
