Western Reserve 56, Columbiana 46

BERLIN CENTER - Western Reserve opened Inter-Tri County League Tier 2 play with a 56-46 win over visiting Columbiana.

Leading the Blue Devils was Dalton Korda with 15 points and six rebounds. Payton Snyder added 14 points and six rebounds, and Nolan Snyder had 12 points.

For Columbiana, Bryce Franken had 15 points. Jake DeJong added 12.

Western Reserve (2-1, 1-0 ITCL Tier 2) hosts Leetonia Wednesday.

Columbiana (0-3, 0-1 ITCL Tier 2) travels to Sebring Tuesday.

SEBRING - Wellsville held off a pesky Sebring squad on the road Friday 57-54. Leading the Tigers was Seth Bradford with 21 points. S

Sebring's Dylan Mick led all scorers with 26 points. He also added eight rebounds. Josh Hurford finished with eight points and three boards.

Sebring won the J.V. game 35-30. Brett Weekly had seven points.

Sebring (1-2, 0-1 ITCL Tier 2) hosts Columbiana Tuesday.

Lowellville 88, Leetonia 75

LEETONIA - Lowellville sprinted out to a 12-point lead after a quarter and never looked back with an 88-75 victory over Leetonia on Friday.

Pat Mangine had 25 points to lead the Rockets.

Leetonia was led by Ian Sevenichs 22 points, five rebounds and a steal. Trent Ferry added 20 points.

Leetonia is 1-2, 0-1 in the ITCL lower tier and is at Western Reserve on Wednesday.

Lowellville won the jayvee game.

NEW MIDDLETOWN - Springfield jumped out to an early lead over East Palestine and held off the Bulldogs for a 67-53 win.

Leading Springfield was Eoghan Bees with 22 points. Jared McTigue and Brandon Chamberlain both added 10.

For East Palestine, Austin Reiser had 18 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks. Billy Bibby added 13. Steve Parker also had 10.

Springfield won the J.V game 53-33. Leading East Palestine was Grant Wagner with 10 points.

East Palestine (0-3, 0-1 ITCL Tier 1) hosts United Tuesday.

MINERAL RIDGE - Crestview fell at Mineral Ridge Friday 64-37. For Ridge, Zac Hagy had a game-high 22 points.

For Crestview, Robert Logan had 17 points and 17 rebounds. Collin Gilbert added 13 points.

Crestview won the J.V. game 53-41. Eric Lloyd had 21 points for the Rebels.

Crestview (1-2, 0-1 ITCL Tier 1) plays Tuesday at Jackson-Milton.

Heartland Christian 43

COLUMBIANA - Scott Hefty hit five three-pointers for a game-high 19 points as Lake Center got past Heartland Christian, 47-43, Friday.

The Tigers jumped out to a 15-8 lead in the first quarter and survived 10-of-31 free throw shooting.

Alex Armstrong added 12 points and Mark Stayman eight.

It was the first loss of the season for Heartland, which is 3-1.

Glen Hoffman led the Lions with 13 points. Caleb House collected 11 points and Kyle Burgess had seven rebounds and four assists.

Heartland won the reserve game, 48-46. Jared Robinson led the Lions with nine points. Kyle Burgess and Caleb Crawford added eight apiece.

Heartland will host Kingsway Christian on Tuesday.
