Nikayla Edgell delivered 16 points leading the East Liverpool girls' basketball team to a 51-45 victory Wednesday night over Youngstown Christian at Potter Fieldhouse.
with the win, the Potters improve to 2-2 on the season.

"It was nice to get another win," East Liverpool head coach Allan Dingey said. "We had a good second quarter. We let them back into the game in the third quarter, but we held on at the end."
Also for the Potters, Mary Davis delivered 11 points, Candace Holmes scored eight points to go along with four blocks and 11 rebounds and Kiara Cowart contributed five points.
Finally, Chelsea Possage and Rae Anna Holmes each finished with four points, Jamie Neville ended up with two points and Sarah Morell collected one point.
East Liverpool won the JV game, 23-19.
Linsey Rose recorded 11 points to lead the way for the Potters. Rose made three 3-pointers in the game.
East Liverpool plays Monday at home against local-rival Beaver Local.
"Of course it is a big game," Dingey said. "It is a local rivalry. They good in their game against Wellsville. have a lot of respect for their coaches."

Bears sweep Panthers
NEW MANCHESTER - The Golden Bears took down the Panthers.
The Oak Glen 7th and 8th grade girls' basketball teams recorded victories Wednesday over visiting Buckeye Local.
The Golden Bears won the 7th grade game, 31-10.
For Oak Glen (2-0), Brooke Reed delivered 10 points, and Alessia Richmond added seven points.
Oak Glen won the 8th grade game, 45-13.
For the Golden Bears (2-0), Taylor McKay contributed 14 points, and Maiesie Witherow recorded eight points.
Oak Glen plays Saturday at Edison.
Potters sweep Wildcats
EAST LIVERPOOL - The Potters caged the Wildcats.
The East Liverpool 7th and 8th grade boys' basketball teams earned a pair of victories Wednesday night over visiting Edison.
East Liverpool won the 7th grade game, 35-18.
For the Potters (2-1), Peyton Adkins netted nine points, and Josh Recktenwald and Logan Torma each recorded eight points.
East Liverpool won the 8th grade game, 50-42.
For the Potters (3-0), Aaron Bombich contributed 14 points, and Logan Dawson ended up with 10 points.
Bryce Piatt tallied 14 points for the Wildcats.
East Liverpool plays Monday at home against Oak Glen.
Devils sweep Trojans
SEBRING - The Blue Devils took care of the Trojans.
The Lisbon 7th and 8th grade boys' basketball teams earned two victories Wednesday at Sebring.
The Blue Devils won the 7th grade game, 36-17.
For Lisbon, Branson Brownfield netted 11 points, and Douglas Minor recorded 10 points.
Collin Baia led Sebring with seven points.
Lisbon won the 8th grade game, 57-20.
For the Blue Devils, Colin Sweeney ended up with 13 points, and Jake Liberati and Jason Thompson each collected 10 points.
Robbie Rouse recorded seven points for the Trojans.
Lisbon plays Monday at Southern Local.
