CALCUTTA - Lynda-Mae Ann Doak of Calcutta, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 63.
Born May 12, 1949 in Oxford, England, she was the daughter of the late Tullio and Mavis Catigani.
She was a 1967 graduate of Beaver Local High School and passed her state boards to become a licensed cosmetologist. Lynda was co-owner of Milligan Hardware.
Lynda is survived by her husband, Arthur "Artie" Doak. They were high school sweethearts and married Aug. 29, 1969, recently celebrating their 43rd wedding anniversary.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Art; her sister, Wendy Catigani; her daughter, Amy Doak and her two granddaughters, Emily and Mavis.
Lynda's family was dear to her heart and she loved spending time with them. She especially enjoyed family dinners, cookouts and board games at Lake Tomahawk. She was an avid shopper. Lynda had a passion for gardening, landscaping, decorating, crafting and traveling. Always possessing a friendly personality, Lynda enjoyed her friends as much as meeting new acquaintances.
Lynda held interests outside the home. She was a member of Herb Club, Coterie Club, Colonial Club and was a hostess of Thompson House Tour Committee. She was on the board of East Liverpool Historical Society, holding the office of secretary for many years.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Dawson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park, and family and friends are invited to Dawson Family Center for lunch following the burial.
