BELOIT- The West Branch Local school board Thursday night approved several athletic supplemental coaching contracts.
The board approved coaching contracts for the 2012-2013 school year to Shawn Alazaus, head baseball; Rick Mulinix, co-assistant baseball; Walt DeShields, co-assistant baseball; Scott Loudon, junior varsity baseball; Tracy Wyatt, head boys track; Kevin Buckley, assistant boys track; Rodger Sharp, assistant boys track; Nathan Heddleston, head girls track; Frank Edie, middle school girls track; Elaine Bonar, head boys tennis; Merrellyn Banks, assistant boys tennis; Jennifer Woods, head softball; Larry Griffith, assistant softball; and Brenda Sharp, junior varsity softball.
In other personnel moves, the board hired for the 2012-2013 school year Alaina Felgar at minimum wage as technical support on an as needed basis; Merrellyn Banks as a home instructor on an as needed basis; Holly Morrow Zion as an aide contingent upon the needs of the students; and Mary Irey as a seven-hour cook's helper.
The board also approved for the 2012-2013 school year certificated substitutes Francie Yarwood, Russell Leatherberry, Lorie Bush, Jeff Shipman and Rebecca Grey; and classified substitutes Melinda McCoy, Tiffany Keinath and Theresa Stryffeler.
Additionally the board accepted donations of $200 from community members to the McVicker Scholarship, $150 from Cope Farm Equipment to the Senior IBE for technology and labor and materials from Smith Landscaping for maintenance of the varsity baseball and junior varsity softball fields.
The next regular school board meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 20 in the high school Library.
