Rogers, Ohio - Pearl Young, 87, of Sprucevale Road, formerly of East Palestine, passed away at 2:00 a.m., Thursday, November 29, 2012, at the Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana, where she had resided for the past few years.

Pearl was born August 4, 1925 in East Palestine, a daughter of the late Lester J. and Elsie Morgan Stallsmith, and prior to her retirement, she had been employed with area restaurants, as well as the former M & W Electrical Manufacturing, East Palestine.

She had been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, East Palestine.

Her husband, Leon R. "Corky" Young, whom she married October 24, 1973, preceded her in death on April 1, 2002. A brother, Lester Stallsmith, as well as sister, Nina, had also preceded her in death, as had a step-son, Leon Young, Jr.

She leaves two daughters, Jane Fink, Aiken, SC and Janet Whittet, Rogers; three sons, Jerry Peebles, New Waterford, Daniel Peebles, Rogers, and David Peebles, Indiana; and three sisters, Susan Felger, East Palestine, Louise Buchner, Arizona, and Mae Bounds, Norfolk, VA; twenty-one grandchildren, and twenty-five great grandchildren. Other survivors include her step-children; John Young, Deborah Patschke, Cindy Smith, and Jeanne Flory, all of Palmyra, PA.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 1st, at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, with David Rose, officiating. The family will receive friends from Noon till 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
