COLUMBIANA - Russell E. "Bud" Hum Jr., 83, of Columbiana, passed away Wednesday morning at Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Russell was born on November 11, 1929 in Columbiana, the son of Russell and Ethel Marie (Sheets) Hum.

A graduate of Columbiana High School, he joined the Air Force in 1948. Russell married the former Sara Evans on March 3, 1961. He worked at Ohio Bell for 30 years, as a splicer and foreman. He later delivered flowers for Columbiana Floral for 20 years.

He was an avid walker and runner, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Russell leaves to cherish his precious memory, his wife of 51 years Sara (Evans) Hum; his daughters, Amy (Anthony) Tardio of Columbiana, Kelley Perez (Scott Montgomery) of Columbiana, and Lori Hum of Leetonia; a son, Sam (Jennie) Hum of Columbiana; a son-in-law, Gordon Wall of Angola, IN.; 11 grandchildren, Cale, Nate, Nickolas, Natalie, Zach, Evan, Matt, Ryan, Hannah, Julia, and Joseph; and two sisters, June Hunston and Alice Hollinger.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Guido-Wall, who passed away two months ago; and a sister, Marge Peppel.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Family and friends are invited to visit to sign the guestbook or to send private condolences.
