NEW CUMBERLAND - The Hancock County Solid Waste Authority is holding a recycling bin raffle for residents who use the Recycling Center.

Residents who visit the center, 832 Gas Valley Road, can enter a drawing to win a tumbling composter or one of 40 recycling tubs. A drawing will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 22.

The drawing is for Hancock County residents only, with a limit of one entry per day and one winner per household. Residents wishing to enter the raffle must show a valid driver's license and a copy of their most recent trash bill. The address on the driver's license and trash bill must match.

Identification will be required to claim any prize, but winners do not have to be present for the drawing.

All prizes must be claimed by Jan. 31, 2013. A list of winning entries will be posted at the facility by Dec. 29, although the names of winning entrants will not be given out over the phone.

The Recycling Center opened in December 2010 and is now open six days a week.

Winter hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
