EAST LIVERPOOL - Jean A. Golden, 81, of Oakwood Avenue, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at 5:50 p.m. at Kindred Hospital at Heritage Valley Beaver following a brief illness.
Born Oct. 12, 1931 at East Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Walter K. Chadwick and Elizabeth G. Coleman.
A lifetime area resident, she work for Ohio Bell Telephone Company for 10 years, was a teacher's aide and librarian at St. Aloysius School for 10 years, and then served as secretary for East Liverpool High School Alumni Association, working from her residence until the clock tower was completed in 1992. Although she retired from the position in 1994, she continued as a very active volunteer in the office of the organization.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, its Catholic Daughters of America and Catholic Women's Study Club. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School in 1949.
Her husband, Walter D. Golden, whom she married May 30, 1958, survives at home. She also leaves behind two loving daughters, Cindy Golden of East Liverpool and Penny Heaton and her husband Craig of East Liverpool. There are two grandsons as well, Christopher Heaton and Nicholas Heaton.
In addition, she is survived by one brother, Robert Chadwick and his wife, Becky of Toronto, Ohio.
Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 2-4 and from 6-8 p.m. at Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool. Fr. Peter Haladej of the church will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Aloysius Church at Holy Trinity Parish.
Family and friends will gather at Dawson Family Center immediately following the Mass.
