LISBON - County commissioner candidate John Wargo filed a campaign finance report after all.
Oct. 25 was the filing deadline at the Columbiana County Board of Elections for pre-election campaign finance reports, and Wargo failed to meet the deadline. The News incorrectly reported Monday it was because he spent less than $1,000, and under those circumstances candidates are not required to file detailed reports.
The report was filed on Monday, and Wargo listed expenditures of $10,498 and a zero balance going into the final two weeks before the Nov. 6 election.
Wargo is running as an independent for the commissioner seat occupied by incumbent John Payne. The third candidate is Republican Tim Weigle. Payne reported spending $8,008 and Weigle $28,120.
