SALINEVILLE - Hoping to better acquaint residents with village operations while giving them a chance to voice their concerns, Mayor Mary Smith has scheduled a community meeting for 10 a.m. Saturday at Village Hall.

"This meeting is for the citizens and businesses to attend and voice any concerns they may have, see what we are currently working on, take a tour of Village Hall, meet some of the employees, council, Board of Public Affairs (members)," Smith explained.

She said any concerns offered up by residents or business owners will be logged and then forwarded to the proper committee chairman and/or council for discussion at their upcoming meetings.

Smith said she is uncertain which, if any, council and BPA members will attend, but all have been apprised of the meeting.

She emphasized, "If council members come, there will be no discussions or deliberations. This is not considered a public meeting or a council meeting."

Saying she wants to "stay connected" with residents and business owners, Smith said she hopes holding quarterly community meetings "will help keep the connection going."
