SALEM - City police were investigating a multiple-injury pedestrian/motor vehicle accident in a parking lot near the tennis courts at Centennial Park at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, with charges pending against the driver.
According to Lt. Dave Casto, there was an alleged altercation in the parking lot between the 19-year-old female driver and some other females. She and her passengers attempted to leave when she allegedly lost control of her vehicle, striking some people in the parking lot and striking a parked car.
None of the injuries were life-threatening, according to Casto, with mostly scrapes and bruises for the several people injured. The driver was also injured, along with one of her passengers. Another of her passengers fled and was being sought by police.
