LISBON - Ten of the 18 money issues on the Nov. 6 ballot would result in tax increases for property owners if they pass.
The following is a list of the money issues by community:
- Center Township: Trustees are seeking approval of a new 1.3-mill fire levy, which raises taxes by $40 a year for the owner of a $100,000 home.
- Columbiana: Council is seeking renewal of a 2-mill ambulance levy, which costs the owner of a $100,000 home $61 per year in real estate taxes.
- East Liverpool: Council is asking voters to approve a new 5-mill street levy, which would raise taxes by $153 a year for the owner of a $100,000 home.
- East Palestine: Council is seeking renewal of a 1-mill park levy, which costs the owner of a $100,000 home $20 a year in real estate taxes.
- East Palestine: Council is seeking renewal of a 2-mill park levy, which cost the owner of a $100,000 home $40 a year in taxes.
- Fairfield Township: Trustees are asking voters to approve an existing 1.5-mill fire levy, but as a replacement levy, which would raises taxes. The owner of a $100,000 home would pay $46 in taxes, an increase of $26.
- Hanover Township: Trustees are seeking renewal of a 1-mill fire levy, which costs the owner of $100,000 home $30 in taxes.
- Homeworth and North Georgetown fire districts: Residents in both districts are being asked to approve an existing 1-mill fire levy but as a replacement levy, which would raise taxes. The owner of a $100,000 home would pay $31, an increase of $11.
- Lisbon: Council is seeking renewal of a 3-mill cemetery, which costs the owner of $100,000 home $50 in taxes.
- Liverpool Township: Trustees are running an existing 1.5-mill police levy as a replacement levy and then tacking on an additional 1.5 mills, for a total of 3-mills, resulting in a tax increase. The owner of a $100,000 home would pay $92 in taxes, an increase of about $39.
- Middleton Township: Trustees are running an existing 2-mill road levy as a replacement levy, which would result in a tax increase. The owner of a $100,000 home would pay $61 in taxes, an increase of $23.
- Rogers: Council is seeking approval of a new 2-mill general operating levy, which raise taxes by $61 for the owner of a $100,000 home.
- Salineville: Council is seeking approval of a new 3-mill police levy, which would raise taxes by $92 for the owner of a $100,000 home.
- St. Clair Township: Trustees are seeking renewal of 2.5-mill fire levy, which costs the owner of a $100,000 home $43 in taxes.
- Wellsville: Council is seeking renewal of a 1.4-mill fire levy, which costs the owner of $100,000 home $37 in taxes.
- Wellsville: Council is seeking renewal of a 0.5-mill flood wall levy, which costs the owner of a $100,000 home $15 in taxes.
- West Township: Trustees are seeking approval of a new 3-mill road levy, which would raise taxes by $92 for the owner of a $100,000 home.
