Truth, fiction

October 21, 2012
Morning Journal News

Editor:

It is very difficult to know the truth. Even when you try to be informed about issues you have to dedicate yourself to checking all the facts before making a decision. Most of us never really know the truth.

There was a panel at Aspen, Colo. with a host of very famous journalists and the CEO of Google saying that there is so much junk and so easy to sell people on skewed facts. The Internet makes it so easy for the politicians and business people to lie.

They can determine very quickly what people are reading and what catches their interest. Most Americans are getting their "facts" online from reporters that only care about ratings and advertising rates. The reporters working for the Internet companies don't even have much experience. The whole thing is truly unbelievable.
