NEW WATERFORD - James W. "Pete" Hulton, Sr., 79, of Waterford Road, passed away 12:23 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Northside Hospital in Youngstown where he had been a patient for the past several weeks.
Pete was born December 17, 1932 in East Palestine, a son of the late Wilbur and Lillian Funk Hulton, and was a life resident of the area. He had at one time been employed as a drag line operator, and had retired from Columbiana Foundry in 1994. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, New Waterford.
Pete is survived by his wife, the former Jane Andre, whom he married October 3, 1952; as well as three sons, James W. Hulton, Jr., Salem, Brian R. (Virginia) Hulton, New Waterford, and Paul J. (Beverly) Hulton, New Springfield. He also leaves a sister, June Stockman, East Palestine; four grandchildren, Dusty, Lacey, Michelle, and Amanda; and five great grandchildren.
A brother, Russell Hulton, and two sisters, Anna Mae Dembauch and Esther Stewart, preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Pastor William Wilkins, officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be conducted by the combined units of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4579 and the American Legion Post 31. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday.
