Samuel 'Dave" Shelton, 75, of East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012.
He was born on April 15, 1937, in East Liverpool, Ohio, a son of the late Harvey and Haley (Wagers) Shelton.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Mae Hamilton, Sandy Owens, Leolia Hutchison, Daisey Novak, Joyce Green and Jane Lawrence.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army and he worked for Pusateri Excavating for thirty plus years as a heavy equipment operator, before retiring in 2011. Dave was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed coon hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Wellsville American Legion, Post 70.
Surviving are two sons, Daniel (Nancy) Shelton and John (Corina) Shelton all of East Liverpool; four grandchildren, Brandi, Daniel, Amber and her husband, Dan, and Shane; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Clayton Shelton of East Liverpool; three sisters, Ruby Coleman of Lisbon, Maxine Coleman of East Liverpool, Violet "Tom" Trevino of California; also by the mother of his sons, Delores Shelton of East Liverpool; and his longtime companion, Mary Lou Duncan of Wellsville and her son, Frankie and his family of East Liverpool.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 16, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, W.Va., where funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012.
Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park, East Liverpool, Ohio. The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military services.
