Site preparation has begun for the $400 million shale gas collection and processing plant being built south of Hanoverton along Tunnel Hill Road and state Route 644. Constructed on 117 acres, Utica East Ohio Midstream plant will serve as a collection and compression site for natural gas extracted by area drillers. The complex will have an initial capacity of 600 million cubic feet per day, with the first phase supposed to be operational by May.
