Wellsville defeats rival Southern Local in 3

WELLSVILLE - The Tigers downed the Indians.

The Wellsville volleyball team recorded a 25-11, 25-18, 25-16 victory over rival Southern Local Tuesday at home.

With the win, the Tigers are now 12-1 overall and 8-0 in the ITCL.

Individually for the Tigers, Shanya Hamilton tallied 10 points and 39 assists, Sarah Skinner recorded six kills and two blocks and McKenna Person contributed 14 points, three aces, two kills and three assists.

Also, Jayla Martin collected 15 kills and Brittany Clendenning ended up with five kills.

Wellsville won the JV match, 25-8, 25-6.

For the Tigers (9-3), Cheyenne Corbin contributed six kills and two aces, and Mystic Beatty tallied 14 points and 14 assists.

Wellsville is scheduled to play Thursday at Heartland Christian.

East Palestine d. Crestview, 25-19, 25-21, 25-19

EAST PALESTINE - The Bulldogs took down the Rebels.

The East Palestine volleyball team earned a 25-19, 25-21, 25-19, victory Tuesday over visiting Crestview.

With the win, the Bulldogs are now 4-10 overall and 1-8 in the ITCL. The loss drops the Rebels to 8-6 overall and 4-5 in the league.

Individually for East Palestine, Carley Sansenbaugher recorded nine kills, 19 blocks, 19 digs and four points, Logan Gatchel tallied seven kills, nine points and 11 assists and Rachel Monteleone ended up with 16 points, three kills and 19 digs.

Also, Megan Brown delivered 13 assists, seven kills and two points.

For Crestview, Cassidy Ross recorded 12 kills and three blocks, Morgan Newbauer delivered 33 assists and Alexys Brooks finished with seven kills.

Crestview won the JV match, 25-9, 25-19.

For the Bulldogs, Kailee Piverotto tallied nine aces, Lauren Harold delivered four kills and Bri Cope produced two kills, two aces and seven assists.

Crestview's JV team is 8-2 overall and 7-2 in the ITCL.

East Palestine is scheduled to play Thursday at Jackson-Milton.

Indian Creek d. Edison, 13-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-18

RICHMOND The Redskins scalped the Wildcats.

The Indian Creek volleyball team won the final three games of the match en route to a 13-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-18, victory Tuesday over homestanding Edison.

With the loss, the Wildcats drop to 10-5 on the season.

Individually for Edison, Katie Davidson delivered eight assists, eight points, five kills and two digs, Katelyn Pollock collected three points, one ace, eight kills, four digs and four blocks and Caitlin Brenstuhl tallied 22 assists, six points, three aces, two kills and six digs.

Also for the Wildcats, Kylie Smyth contributed nine points, one ace, two kills and five digs, Cassady Jarvis recorded 13 points, three aces, seven kills, four blocks and one dig and Hannah Johns scored five points to go along with two aces, one kill and two digs.

Finally, Alexis Gill finished with five kills, five blocks and one dig, and Maddie Williamson added three digs.

Monday, Edison recorded a 25-17, 28-26, 25-15, victory over Buckeye 8 rival Martins Ferry at home.

Individually for the Wildcats, Davidson delivered five assists seven points, one ace, four kills and one block, Pollock collected three points, one ace, 11 kills and one dig and Brenstuhl tallied 27 assists, one point and three kills.

Also, Johns scored 10 points to go along with one ace and two kills, Jarvis recorded eight points, two aces and 11 kills and Smith contributed three points, one ace and to digs.

Finally, Williamson added one kill and two digs.

Edison's will play in a tri-match against Wellsville and Oak Glen at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wellsville.

JUNIOR HIGH

Potters split with Wildcats

EAST LIVERPOOL - The East Liverpool and Edison Junior High volleyball teams split Tuesday at Westgate.

The East Liverpool 8th grade volleyball team earned a 25-19, 25-18, victory Tuesday over visiting Edison.

Individually for the Potters (6-3), Lauren Cunningham contributed eight points, Kirsi King chipped in with six points and Lindsay Baker and Katelyn Sandreth each finished with four points.

East Liverpool is scheduled to play Thursday at home against Conotton Valley.

Edison won the 77th grade match, 25-13, 22-25, 25-22.

For the Potters (4-5), Kiandria Cowart tallied nine points, and Mariah Peachey contributed eight points.

East Liverpool is scheduled to play again Monday at Edison.

Blue Devils tame Tigers

WELLSVILLE - The Lisbon 8th grade volleyball team recorded a 25-22, 27-25 victory Monday night at Wellsville.

Individually for the Blue Devils, Alli Davis scored 11 points, and Courtney Tolson tallied seven points.

For the Tigers, Payton Munoz netted six points, and Alex Daniels collected five points.

Lisbon is scheduled to play Mineral Ridge today at home.

Golden Bears sweep Red Knights

NEW MANCHESTER - The Golden Bears recorded a sweep.

The Oak Glen 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams swept Toronto Tuesday.

The Golden Bears won the 7th grade game, 25-212, 22-25, 25-13.

Kinsey Beaver recorded 26 points to lead the way for Oak Glen.

Oak Glen won the 8th grade match, 25-7, 25-8.

Hannah Clunk contributed 15 points to lead the way for the Golden Bears. Also for Oak Glen, Maisie Witherow recorded 11 points, Dominica Price produced 10 points and Cassidy Strum collected five spikes.

Oak Glen will play Thursday at Indian Creek.
