EAST LIVERPOOL - The Potters tamed the Bears.

Kevin Bankes and Shane Talbott each tallied hat tricks leading the East Liverpool boys' soccer team to a 13-0 win over Leetonia Wednesday night at Mangano Field.

Also for the Potters (2-6-1), Alex Potts collected two goals and two assists, Klayton Kosek contributed a goal and four assists and Jake Angus, Justin Barr, Andrew Connor and Oscar Ramirez all recorded goals.

Shawn Falloon, Andrew Martin and Barr all delivered assists.

East Liverpool used two goalies in the game. CJ Harris made two saves, while Bankes did not have to make one.

"The kids played hard tonight," first-year East Liverpool head coach Zack Kinsey said. "Their confidence is definitely lifted. It should continue for the rest of the season. All of the hard work is definitely paying off. It is starting to show.

"The team is getting better and better. We have a great group of kids, and I'm happy to coach each and everyone one of them."

East Liverpool's next game is at 11 a.m. Saturday at John Marshall.
